Last night, the Saddleback College community celebrated the formal installation of Dr. Lonita Cordova as the 12th president of Saddleback College. 🐾

President Cordova has already been hard at work on campus, meeting with students, employees, and community members. The installation marked a special moment to celebrate her leadership and look ahead to what comes next.

In her remarks, President Cordova reflected on her own journey, one that was not always a straight line, and the people who helped her see possibilities she did not always see for herself. That experience shapes the way she thinks about our students today.

Her message to Bobcats: No matter where you begin, Saddleback should be a place that helps you find your path, get the support you need, and move closer to the future you want.

As President Cordova said, our students are “the beating heart of everything we do.”

Congratulations, President Cordova!

It's our 58th birthday! 🎂 We've come a long way from a few buildings among rolling hills in a newly developed town in South Orange County to the #1 community college in CA, 24,000+ students strong!

And let's not forget about the generations of families in our community that have been educated at Saddleback College since we opened our doors on this day in 1968. Thanks to the students of the past and present for trusting us with your education!

As you look through these throwbacks, you might not recognize the campus you see today. And we love that! As the years have passed, we've changed with the times and invested in facilities and programs to give every student the tools they need to succeed.

What's your favorite memory or spot on campus? Let us know below!

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the Saddleback College community gathered at the Veterans Memorial for a moment of silence and observance.

Saddleback College Police Chief Richard Nelson opened the ceremony, recognizing the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice that day, as well as those who serve our communities every day.

President Dr. Lonita Cordova, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, followed by sharing her personal reflections on resilience, honoring the memory of those we lost, and reminding us of the duty we carry to support one another.

They were joined by students from the Saddleback College EMT program, who are currently training to become the next generation of firefighters and paramedics.

We thank everyone who joined us today for this solemn remembrance.
