No project is complete without some setbacks. When first undertaking this project we knew that we would have to lay infrastructure piping from nearly 1.5 km away in order to have running water at the farm. For us, this was actually a great opportunity bring easily accessible water to a community that had never had that previously. We've now learned, however, that the current electrical grid in the area is not capable of supporting running water up this high on the mountain...

So, instead we will be using several large water tanks and a large rain water collection system to support the farm. Although it is a different approach and not as beneficial to the larger community it is still an exciting opportunity to run the farm in a more sustainable way!

Just received an update from Jean d'Amour of the Nehemiah Association. We partnered with him and his family last year to help launch a stationary, printing, and copying store near the National University in Butare, Rwanda. Things are going very well!
