“I was purple when I first heard of college night. I was purple all the way up until the mixer in September of last year, where I showed up in full purple gear. Pants, shirt, jacket, shoes, the whole 9 yards. I went up to speak to Julianna, because I just knew her the best out of everyone else there. After talking with her for a while, she sent me off to talk to a whole number of people. I realised as I spoke to all of these people, I connected with them a whole lot more than I did a lot of other purples. Gold just felt a lot more welcoming to me, and I’m so glad I switched.”

What’s better than one Summer gig? Two! Daniel is keeping himself busy this Summer at Huntsville Animal Services and Fantasy Playhouse. At HAS, Daniel socializes cats and helps them find their furever family! Daniel also leads children through activities and assists with pickup and drop off at Fantasy Playhouse. The work you’re doing will touch so many lives. Keep it up, Daniel! 🐾🦁

THE LATEST ON THE GOLD SIDE LEADERS!

Feature: Emmie Koehn (she/her)
Hey, hey Gold Side! If we haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet, my name is Emmie Koehn, and I will be one of your co-leaders for Gold Side this year! I am a Theatre major with a focus in Theatre management. I have been proudly wearing black and gold for 2 years and I’ve been involved with Cast and as Head Stage Manager, Head Cheer, and Secretary. When I’m not playing college night you can find me playing video games, cuddling my cat Luna, or reading comics. My favorite has been reading Ryan North’s run of the Fantastic Four. I can’t wait to see everyone in our next circle up and meet so many new golds next year! I am so honored to be one of your Gold Side leaders and can’t wait to get the season started!

Hey Gold Side!!!! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Jake Manley. I’m a Mass Communications major and Theatre minor, and I’ve been involved on Gold Side for 3 years on the cast, as the assistant director, and most recently as head director.. I am also an Orientation leader and current Social chair of Alpha Kappa Lambda! In my spare time I love to attend local concerts, watching or play anything and everything superhero and video game related. Right now I’m deep into watching invincible and expedition 33! To any new or loyal golds, I’m so excited to get started with you all!

Head Director - Jake Manley 💫
“Hey Gold Side! I’m Jake Manley, your director for the 2026 season!!! Gold side has been a home to me ever since I got to Montevallo, and seeing it grow and evolve has been a joy. I’m so excited and proud of all the work we’ve put in to this amazing show, and I can’t wait for everyone else to see it too. GV!!!!!”

“Hey hey, Gold Side! It’s David and I’m so incredibly honored to be serving this beautiful side as Assistant Director! As an aspiring performer and director telling stories through the lens of theatre has always fascinated me, and as an artist, this College Night season thus far has been nothing short of fulfilling. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to work alongside Jake in conceptualizing and staging this production from the ground up—and with that, this story and cast mean so much to me! I am also eternally grateful to Julianna and Madison for their leadership and support throughout the process. Also, to my beautiful friends serving as the directors and leaders of Purple Side… thank you for being the cherry on top making this year so special! I cannot wait to head into the weekend! GV BABY!”
