Celebrating MTSU alumni making an impact!

Congratulations to Jonathan Radford, recipient of the Young Alumni Achievement Award! Jonathan is a 2013 graduate with a degree in Electronic Media Communication and Journalism.

We’re also celebrating 2004 graduate L. Kasimu Harris, recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award. While a student at MTSU, he was an award-winning writer and reporter for Sidelines, the university’s student-run newspaper.

This September marks 25 years since September 11, 2001. Join us for a powerful panel discussion featuring journalists and media professionals who covered the attacks from New York City, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania.

Two-time GRAMMY Award winner and Sugarland co-founder Kristian Bush and accomplished musician, composer, producer and musical director Brandon Bush will share insights from their careers and experiences across songwriting, recording, production, touring and the music industry.

The conversation will be moderated by MTSU Recording Industry alumna and entertainment writer Cindy Watts.

Three Buchanan Transfer Fellows. One incredible achievement. 💙

We’re proud to celebrate three students from the Scott Borchetta College of Media and Entertainment who have been selected as Buchanan Transfer Fellows in the MTSU Honors College.

Congratulations to our two Audio Production students and one Video and Film student on this prestigious achievement!

Named for MTSU Nobel Prize-winning alumnus Dr. James M. Buchanan, the Buchanan Transfer Fellowship recognizes just 30 outstanding transfer students entering their junior year each year. Fellows participate in a special seminar during their first semester and complete at least 11 hours of Honors coursework.

We’re proud to see our students recognized and can’t wait to see what they accomplish in this program!

For 10 years, WMOT Roots Radio has been a champion of Americana music discovery and community service.

It’s also been a valuable connection between MTSU and the music industry. WMOT employs graduates of the Scott Borchetta College of Media and Entertainment, and several of our students intern at the station each year, gaining hands-on experience while learning from professionals in the field.
