✨ OPENING YOUR IMAGINATION ✨
Awakening Butterflies Light Seekers, we’ve talked about the different clairs and how they help us understand the information we receive through our psychic and mediumistic connections.
But there is another piece that is incredibly important:
Your imagination.
Our imagination is one of the pathways through which psychic information can begin to take shape. An image may flash through your mind. A scene may suddenly unfold. A word, symbol, color, memory, feeling, or completely unexpected idea may appear.
The more comfortable you become allowing your imagination to flow freely, the easier it can become to recognize and work with those subtle impressions.
And one of the best ways to strengthen your imagination?
PLAY. 🎨✨
As children, we naturally lived in worlds of imagination. We pretended, created, explored, built things, sang loudly, dressed up, made stories, and believed almost anything was possible.
Then somewhere along the way, many of us were told:
“Stop pretending.”
“Get your head out of the clouds.”
“Grow up.”
And little by little, we may have learned to shut that imaginative part of ourselves down.
Psychic development invites us to open that door again. 💜
Here are some fun ways to begin:
🎨 COLOR
Pull out some crayons, colored pencils, markers, or paint.
Stay inside the lines—or completely ignore them. 😂
Coloring can help relax the thinking mind and invite your visual imagination forward. Notice which colors you are naturally drawn toward. Notice whether images, memories, symbols, or feelings begin appearing as you create.
This can be especially helpful when developing clairvoyance.
🧩 PUZZLES
Puzzles invite your brain to see both the pieces and the larger picture.
You look at shapes, colors, patterns, and possibilities and begin imagining where everything belongs.
In many ways, psychic work can feel similar. We may receive little pieces of information and gradually begin connecting them until the larger story becomes clearer.
Puzzles can be a wonderful exercise for developing clairvoyance and claircognizance.
🎶 MUSIC
Music can completely change our energy.
Allow yourself to get lost in it.
Play an instrument.
Sing in the shower.
Dance around your living room.
Grab a tambourine.
Go to karaoke.
Lip-sync dramatically into a hairbrush if necessary. 😂🎤
Music allows us to move out of our analytical mind and into rhythm, emotion, creativity, and expression.
Let yourself feel where the music takes you.
🌿 NATURE
Nature has a beautiful way of helping us slow down and reconnect.
Sit beside the ocean.
Walk beneath trees.
Watch clouds move.
Listen to birds.
Put your bare feet in the grass.
Notice the wind.
Watch the sunset.
Instead of rushing through nature, allow yourself to marinate in it for a while.
When the nervous system settles and the mind becomes quieter, we often become much more aware of subtle impressions.
🏖️ CREATE WITH YOUR HANDS
Remember building sandcastles as a child?
When was the last time you created something simply because it was fun?
Play with sand.
Clay.
Mud.
Paint.
Build something.
Sculpt something.
Don’t worry about whether it is “good.”
Creation isn’t about perfection—it is about allowing inspiration to move through you.
Sometimes our most beautiful intuitive moments arrive when we’re busy creating and not trying so hard to receive anything at all.
🎭 PLAY DRESS-UP
Who did you pretend to be when you were little?
A doctor?
Astronaut?
Dancer?
Wizard?
Superhero?
Mermaid? 🧜♀️😂
Children don’t simply put on a costume—they become the character.
They imagine how that person moves, speaks, thinks, and feels.
That ability to step outside the ordinary and enter another perspective exercises the imagination beautifully.
Give yourself permission to be silly again.
Dress up.
Create a character.
Have a themed evening.
Play pretend with your children, grandchildren, partner, friends—or just yourself.
There is no age limit on imagination.
✍️ AUTOMATIC WRITING
Automatic writing is another wonderful exercise for opening the imagination and strengthening claircognizance.
Set an intention.
Sit with a notebook and pen.
Then simply begin writing.
Don’t stop to edit.
Don’t worry about grammar.
Don’t decide whether something “makes sense.”
Just keep the pen moving and allow whatever wants to emerge to come through.
The moment you begin thinking:
“That sounds ridiculous.”
“I must be making this up.”
“This can’t possibly mean anything.”
That is often your logical mind trying to take control again.
Acknowledge it—and keep writing.
You can always evaluate what you wrote afterward.
✨ YOUR LIGHT SEEKER CHALLENGE
Choose one playful activity this week that you haven’t done in a long time.
Color.
Dance.
Do a puzzle.
Build something.
Walk in nature.
Sing.
Dress up.
Write without thinking.
And while you’re doing it, notice:
How do I feel when I stop trying to be productive and simply play?
Does my mind become quieter?
Do images, feelings, ideas, memories, or intuitive impressions begin appearing more easily?
Which clair seems to come alive when I’m being creative?
One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves on a spiritual path is permission to rediscover the part of ourselves that still knows how to wonder. 🦋✨
Sometimes developing your intuition isn’t about trying harder.
Sometimes it’s about playing more.
