Between classes, work, and everything in between, screens are everywhere. This semester, Buley
Library is inviting students, faculty, and staff to take a break — and earn a shot at winning a prize in
our monthly and end-of-semester raffle drawings.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Complete 5 screen-free activities — pick from the examples below, or come up with your own.
2. Jot down what you did on a challenge card.
3. Fill in your name and contact info, and turn your card in at the Check-Out Desk. Each completed
card is one entry into our end-of-semester raffle.
4. Pick up more cards anytime and keep earning entries — there's no limit on how many you can
submit.
5. We'll hold monthly drawings (but you can only win once) and one big drawing at the end of the
semester for everyone who participated.
□ Read a short story or essay from the library collection
□ Check out a book from a display, New Books, or the Leisure Reading Collection — and read at least some of it!
□ Work on the puzzle on the ground floor
□ Do a craft in the Makerspace
□ Play a game from the Game Collection
□ Try out the Zen Den nap pod
□ Attend a “No Screens Required” event at the Library
□ Take a walk without your phone
□ Share a no-phone meal with someone
□ Handwrite a letter or card to someone
□ Try a craft — knit, draw, doodle, whatever
□ Cook something from a print cookbook
□ Journal for 10 minutes
□ Have a face-to-face conversation instead of texting
Make up your own — the only rule is no screens.
