NDEAM STAFF INTERVIEWS:

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)!💙

Did you know that only 40.3% of people with disabilities are employed? There’s still a gap, and at OA, we’re working to bridge it!

We teach our scholars the skills they need to not only get a job but maintain employment, build independence, and become successful in the workplace. From developing communication and teamwork skills to gaining real-world work experience, we’re preparing our scholars for opportunities beyond the classroom.

Disability inclusion means creating opportunities, breaking barriers, and recognizing the value every individual brings to the workforce.

📚 Did you know September is **Attendance Awareness Month**?

At OA, we understand how closely attendance and success are connected! One way we work to combat chronic absenteeism is by creating a FUN, SAFE, and WELCOMING environment for our scholars both inside and outside of the classroom.

We take the time to build unique relationships with each scholar and make OA a place they WANT to come to. When scholars want to be here, we know they trust us, feel comfortable with us, and are more willing to learn and grow with us.

Because sometimes, getting scholars through the door is the first step to helping them WIN ON THEIR GOALS
