The third day of the delegation organized by of in Boston started at The Engine. MIT founded this venture firm in 2016 to support tough tech companies, and it is aimed at solving problems through development in science, engineering, and leadership. Francisca Barros, Partner & Chief Design Officer, led a stunning presentation during the activity.
We continue the day at – Food & Nutrition Innovation Institute. Its mission is to foster a robust, science-driven ecosystem of innovation, sustainability, and food, agricultural, and wellness entrepreneurship, working with more than 90 companies to rethink the food system. We were pleasantly welcomed by Katie Stebbins, Executive Director, and Hallie Maly, Operations Manager who talked about the Insitute. We listened a great presentation from Professor Fiorenzo Omenetto, Dr. Edward Saltzman and William Shaw, Bill Shaw, Vice Provost for Research, ad interim and Senior Director for Technology Transfer and Industry Collaboration, who explained us how the university works. We ended visiting the SilkLab, were we saw and touched all the innovative products you can create with the silk solution, from PH sensors to food covers.
To end the day, we visited , a company that manufactures containers that use hydroponic vertical farming. Their platform has empowered hundreds of individuals, businesses, and organizations to start farming, creating a worldwide community of farmers.
