Trace Jordan didn't originally envision himself at college. However, today as a clinical professor, he uses that lived experience to build spaces at NYU College of Arts & Science where students feel they belong. https://lintr.ee/nyuartsandsciencealumni

As a first-generation college student, he co-founded the CAS Proud to Be First program, which is now celebrating its tenth anniversary. Trace also served as a Faculty Fellow-in-Residence by living with students in NYU residence halls to cultivate community.

With Trace, students are challenged to see science as a deeply human story and not just as a set of textbook facts. His winding academic journey—which took unexpected turns through laser physics, the philosophy of science, and chemistry—serves as the ultimate blueprint for his interdisciplinary courses.

Discover the full story behind Trace's incredible 30-year NYU journey with our first monthly NYU Arts & Science Faculty Feature at the link above!

For Trevor Cano (CAS ’07), NYU is more than a campus—it’s a living stage to design distinctive experiences and strengthen connections. https://linktr.ee/nyuartsandsciencealumni

His passion for experiential programming was sparked at NYU College of Arts & Science as an undergrad working in student affairs. Today as director of advancement events, Trevor is one of the strategists behind moments for the NYU community, whether it’s an intimate dinner, a presidential installation, or a multi-day leadership conference.

Meet Tarek Ibrahim (CAS ʼ00), whose career has bridged the worlds of architecture and art history. linktr.ee/nyuartsandsciencealumni

After earning his BA in art history from NYU College of Arts & Science in 2000 and his MArch from Columbia University and the Parsons School of Design in 2008, he moved to Berlin shortly thereafter, where he worked for several years as a practicing architect—most notably at the firm of Sauerbruch Hutton.

Tarek returned to academia in 2012, where he completed his PhD on the life and work of the German architect Johann Adam Rennebaum as a mirror of—and a window onto—the German expatriate community in Egypt around 1900. Today, he works in the strategy department for the Humboldt Forum and helps shape the next generation of thinkers by teaching at NYU Berlin.
