The fabric of these communities would change over night, making them unaffordable to current residents, displacing many of them and cause a lot of damage to the existing housing stock.

WE Demand to have equal representation on the most important Committee in CB9 the Landuse Committee.

WE Demand full disclosure of the people who have been placed on our board, to “represent” us.

WE Demand that Landuse Committee members reflect the racial composition of our neighborhood!

Stop 🛑 the powers that be from systemically privatizing, and now of all things locking the general public out of Prospect Park’s Vale of Cashmere. This is OUR Park-the entire park!
Their plan is to cut down more healthy trees and replace with an amphitheater with an admission cost, attracting noise and disruption. The architect and planner, Olmsted, said :
“Prospect Park would become a favorite resort for all classes of our community, enabling thousands to enjoy pure air, with healthful exercise, at all seasons of the year “.
Honor the vision and intent of Olmsted and the quiet and serenity that ALL the public enjoys and restore the Vale and not destroy by spending 20 million dollars for bathrooms and cement!

The relentless monetization of our public green spaces has got to stop! DEFEND THE VALE OF CASHMERE, the dense woodlands at the NE corner of Prospect Park, from noisy, instrusive development planned by the Prospect Park Alliance that includes an event space and comfort stations costing $20 MILLION. New York State and Governor Hochul plan to demolish the neighborhood around Penn Station and replace it with ten glass skyscrapers owned by the mega-real estate firm, Vornado Realty Trust. Vornado is already calling the area its “campus”.

Community It’s Time to Rise!!
King Fred, Chair of four (4) Committees at CB9 in an unprecedented autocratic move removes the CB9 ULURP Committee from a proposed rezone for one side of Fennimore Street between Bedford and Rogers Avenues.

Hence, the community has coined his title “King Fred”. Contrary to CB9 Bylaws and the City Charter that mandates inclusion of committee’s to engage with the Department of City Planning (DCP) and to be kept abreast of all zoning proposals, King Fred has publicly denied the ULURP Committee privy to the specifics and updates on this forced rezone.
King Fred has publicly stated that he and CB9’s District manager will along with DCP behind closed doors decide upon this forced rezone.
