The City University of New York's (CUNY) Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) is an academic support program offered at nine CUNY colleges. ASAP helps students stay on track and graduate by providing a range of financial, academic, and personal supports. As students approach graduation, they receive special supports to help them transfer to 4-year colleges or transition into the workforc

Career Specialists completed the NACE Capstone Career Coaching Intensive, strengthening the skills and tools they use to support students as they prepare for internships, jobs, and life after graduation.

Tia Foster always knew she loved science and being in the lab, she just wasn’t sure where that passion could take her.

A 2022 Biology graduate from Medgar Evers College, Tia joined CUNY ASAP looking for direction. With support from the ASAP team, including Ms. Ruth, she discovered career opportunities she didn’t even know existed and gained the confidence to pursue them.

Today, Tia is a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. And one thing she wants future ASAP students to know: “Be 100% honest about your goals in life and they will steer you in the right direction.”

His journey took him from Bronx Community College to Baruch College, graduating in 2026 with a degree in Statistics and Quantitative Modeling.

First-generation. Three CUNY degrees. Now helping the next generation succeed.

Leah Rampersaud joined CUNY ASAP at LaGuardia Community College knowing she'd need support as a first-generation college student and CUNY ASAP delivered.

With guidance from her advisor, David Turcotte, transportation assistance, academic support, and financial resources, she stayed focused on her goals and became the first person in her family to graduate from college.

Leah earned her associate degree at LaGuardia Community College before continuing to Hunter College, where she earned both her bachelor's degree in Sociology and her Master of Social Work.
Today, she's a school social worker, helping students navigate challenges and thrive.

As a Forensic Psychology student at John Jay College, Ivana balanced a rigorous course load, multiple internships, and a part-time job while preparing for her future.
