NYU Shuruq is now up and ready for 2021 🥳! This year we are introducing a 🥘 Halal Food Crawl 🥘 available to all NYU students who wish to participate. All students will be receiving a discount for select Halal Restaurants and will be able to present either the coupon or the discount code by phone or in person until April 23, 2021.

Enjoy the blessed month of Ramadan by supporting local Halal businesses and treating yourselves!

Shuruq is back for another year! This time we are all digital. Our first event is the 🥳Welcome Back Carnival🥳 on MONDAY APRIL 5, 2021

We will be decorating donuts, playing rounds of Among Us, and getting to know each other!

So as you all know, Shuruq has come to an end :((( However, while Islamic Heritage Month won’t be back until next year, we would like to let you all know that there are still opportunities for you to have fun celebrating Islam!

Remember how much food we had for Halal Food Fest? Well, we would like to promote an even bigger event than that! New York Halal Food Festival is an event featuring a great variety of foods from all over the tristate area! From restaurants on Long Island to eateries located upstate and even beyond, there will be a ton of Halal food for everyone to enjoy!

The festival will be held on June 29, 2019 from 11AM to 7PM at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island. Be sure to cancel all other plans that day, because this is one event you don’t want to miss!

Ramadan Mubarak from Shuruq to you!

As we begin this beloved month of fasting in the name of Allah, we would like to let you know that Shuruq will be participating in Suhoor preparations throughout the month. Insha Allah, we will be having meal vouchers for students who do not have any more meal swipes. These vouchers can be used to purchase pre-packaged Suhoor packages, which can be bought from Lipton, Weinstein, and Jasper Kane Dining Halls. If you have any extra meal swipes and would like to donate for students who need to eat before fasting, don't hesitate to contact us!

In addition, stay tuned for Shuruq hosted Suhoors at different dorms, diners, and the sheikhs’ homes! More information to come soon.

For anyone looking to break their fasts with others, the IC will be hosting Iftars at GCASL every night starting tonight. In addition, after Isha prayers, the IC will also be having Taraweeh prayers.
