We had a fantastic time at the Licking County Chamber of Commerce Manufacturing Day Celebration!

COTC’s Tim Goetz, The Ohio State University at Newark's Dr. Sandra Soto-Caban and C-TEC of Licking County's Matt Thompson took the stage to highlight the critical role educators play in preparing students for modern industry careers. By bridging classroom learning with hands-on technical skills, higher education continues to drive innovation and support regional manufacturing growth across central Ohio.

Thank you to the Licking County Chamber for bringing industry leaders and educators together to build a brighter future for our local workforce!

Kevin Distelhorst, a 2018 COTC Peace Officer Basic Training grad, was credited for saving a man's life in the Heath Kroger parking lot while off duty! We commend our alumnus for his decisive action in protecting our community.

Recently President John M. Berry, PhD, presented the prestigious Legends of Loyalty award to a quartet of commendable, worthy recipients:

Misty Amacher — Assistant Director of Customer Service and Processing, helping students and military-connected families navigate the often-overwhelming world of financial aid.

Rhonda Carter — Services Center Supervisor and staff development committee vice chair, creating a positive office culture for almost 30 years.

Kim Goudy — Professor of business management technology since 2002, received the COTC Teaching Excellence Award and has presented at more than a dozen national and international conferences.

The Ohio State University at Newark — Honored for 55 years of a unique cost-shared partnership, sharing personnel, resources and facilities.

“Their selfless service has truly impacted the trajectory of our college,” Berry said. “Their vision helps set our direction. Their commitment keeps us moving forward. Their example inspires all of us to work toward the shared goal of empowering students through education and training that changes lives.”
