On 27th of August, Amity School of Fashion Technology Kolkata visited a NGO called Ek Tara foundation which educates our future generations.
Our students with their mentor Mr. Abhishek Ray, taught these learners about fashion model drawing and designing. We were amused by their creativity! These youngsters took
inspiration from what their mothers wear, and what their dream dresses would be like, a few were smart enough to replicate the outfits worn by us. It was a very gratifying and an adorable experience for all.

This was the second webinar jointly organized by the Oklahoma state university and ASFTK, the speaker was Mr. Debaditya Das Barman who has specialized in knitwear design and has been working on Responsible design, zero-waste products and upcycling since 2015. He criticised the conventional idea of deconstruction in literature, architecture and fashion. He also discussed Jacques Derrida and his philosophy and the broader application of Deconstruction in Literature, architecture and in Fashion. Then the speaker took the participants through some deconstructivist designs by designers like Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto etc before finally arriving at some of speaker’s own designs where the designs were analyzed through a deconstructive lens.
