Join us for the Inaugural Umoja Ascension Ceremony 🖤💛
A powerful celebration honoring graduating students who identify as Black and have helped shape the legacy of BSU.

Hosted in collaboration with the Black Student Union (BSU) and the Catawba Black Alumni Network (CBAN), this ceremony recognizes your journey from scholar to legacy leader—grounded in Umoja, the principle of unity.

🎓 Ceremony: 10:00–11:30 AM
🥂 Reception: 11:30 AM–12:00 PM
📍 Crystal Peeler Lounge

✨ Participants receive ceremonial cords
✨ Transition into CBAN
✨ Celebrate culture, excellence, and community

The government shutdown is weighing on families and friends near and far. It is a reminder that real people feel the impact first. We want to do more than talk about it. We want to take action.

Join us on November 22 from 10 am to 2 pm for a campus food drive supporting local charities and community members. Every can, box, and bag makes a difference. Cash donations and gift cards are also accepted.

We are adding a little friendly competition. The team or department that donates the most goods will win a prize. More important, you will help lift someone up during a tough moment.
