Dear Golfweek Amateur Tour players,

After 16 wonderful seasons of serving you, I will be stepping down as the Michigan Director after the conclusion of this season. This decision comes with mixed emotions — excitement for the new adventures ahead, and sadness for the end of this chapter.

It has been an honor and a privilege to be part of your Tour journey. Your love and support over the years has exceeded any of my expectations and will be cherished always. Thank you dearly for the trust, loyalty and gratitude you’ve shown me (and Jamy) over the years.

You have been like family to me, and will continue to be that for me. I may not be in position of Director after this season, but I will still be a loyal member of the Tour and you will still see me around from time to time. I look forward to the continued friendships, competition and comraderie.

Justin Osborn will be your replacement Director starting in the 2027 season. Please offer him a warm welcome and support as he transitions into the position.

Thank you for allowing me to serve you — and for making my position so rewarding. I will carry the memories of our connection into this next chapter with a full heart.

Calderone Golf Club has grown to be a Tour favorite and getting to play it for 2 days in luxury weather and great course conditions made it all the better for the 88 participants.

What initially looked like could have been a very rainy round of golf, turned out fairly pleasant with only some light showers scattered throughout the round. The players were able to fully enjoy the splendor and great conditions of the beautiful Medalist Golf Club.
Much thanks to the Pro Lowell Weaver for accommodating our playoffs and finding room for them within the packed tee sheet for them to play the extra 5 holes needed to complete both playoffs.

What a beautiful weekend was had at the 2-day Major at Hawk Hollow and Eagle Eye courses. The weather was warm and comfortable and the wildfire smoke was minimal. The wind made things interesting day 1 at Hawk Hollow but the wind took it easy on us at the more open style course of Eagle Eye day 2.

A nice weekend was had by all, but perhaps was even better for these players.

Stonehedge South at the Gull Lake Resort brought a love/hate relationship upon the day. Though there was much love for the course itself, there was a probably equal hate for all the trees 🌳😏 We did hear some chatter about some tree monkeys that were handing out many lucky breaks from the trees and putting players balls into fairways though. Others, they didn't get to meet such monkeys 🫤

Whether luck, skill or perhaps a little of both, these players properly navigated what was put in front of them.

Greystone Golf Club was anything but grey. The course was green and in great shape, the skies were blue and some skin may have turned red from the sun 😎

Some may have also been seeing red if they didn't play well, but these players were only seeing green.

If one could write a script for the perfect day of golf, the plot would be based off today's course of Pilgrim's Run Golf Club and today's weather of mostly sunny, light breeze and low 80's. Nobody could have asked for more today (except maybe to have scored lower than they did).
