TODAY IN HISTORY (October 15, 1966) - The Black Panther Panther Party Began (54 years ago)! The Black Panther Party was founded by two Merritt College students, Huey Newton and Bobby Seale. Their activism to promote social change and helping their local community by developing “survival programs” made a huge impact to families through out the United States. These programs included free food programs for families and the elderly, assistance with legal aid, clothing distribution, local transportation, and health clinics for ALL underrepresented communities. bit.ly/MCHomeBPP

Update: our Homies box truck, gifted by Trybe, was stolen at 10pm from 77th and Mac. This morning an angel text me that they found it on 79th and Rudsdale. My wife and I went strapped with prayers and hope. AAA wouldn’t tow it, but another angel Sofia Navarro, owner of S&F Towing came and towed it from the block all the way to Berkeley for FREE. Isai Hurtado recommended us to Rex’s Keys and they already fixed the ignition key. But the catalytic converter was stolen. Can any shop help us? Ittrulytakesabarrio!

I am SO proud of Bang Null and have been since I first witnessed their drive, creativity, and inspiring ability.
As one of our entire districts most successful and accomplished clubs, I hope they will serve as excellent role models for the schools and district itself.
They demonstrate the potential in effective engagement of technology, smooth communication systems, organized planning, and especially engagement of social media or other online platforms.
One of the areas our district struggles the most to meet modern standards. Which is an especially painful realization in one of the most technologically rich regions on Earth.

The Bang!Null club is one of the reasons why our students are so successful - especially when it comes to the National Cyber League (NCL) competition where the Merritt College teams have consistently placed in the top 5 in the gold or silver divisions in the last 4 years.
