William J. Foreman Memorial Scholarship First awarded in Feb 2007, $72,000 has been awarded to 43 seniors, graduating from 20 different Fai The William J. Foreman Memorial Scholarship is open to: Graduating high school seniors from Fairfax County, VA, who demonstrate personal and academic achievement and specifically, who have overcome significant adversity to successfully graduate and need financial assistance to pursue higher education.

Selection Criteria:
Students who have successfully overcome significant adversity, demonstrate academic achievement, serve as a mentor to others and display a positive attitude. Deadline Applications available beginning February 1 and due April 1. Contact: High School Career Center or Social Worker from applicable Fairfax County High School or online via the Family Connection section of the Fairfax County Public Schools website.

William J. Foreman Memorial Scholarship Awards - 2020 Recipients.
Scholarships of $2,000 each were awarded in July 2020 to Ashley Beck (University of Virginia), Layma Kakar (George Mason University) and Nia Winston (Northern Virginia Community College). Congratulations to Ashley, Layma and Nia!
Since 2007, 43 students have received scholarship awards totaling $72,000. The students have graduated from 20 different Fairfax County Public Schools high schools and gone on to attend 17 different colleges and universities.
The William J. Foreman Memorial Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Foreman family, is administered by the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia. Donations continue to be accepted in memory of Will and to continue this program. Donations are accepted at cfnova.org, a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are applied 100% to the scholarship fund.
As always, tremendous thanks to all of you who have supported and continue to support this scholarship program to help these very deserving young people, who have overcome significant adversity, to have the opportunity for a better, brighter future.

2019 Presentation of the William J. Foreman Memorial Scholarship Awards
Scholarships of $2,000 each were presented on June 6, 11 and 29, 2019 to Rosy Sultana (George Mason University), Maihemuti Milading (George Mason University) and Melanie Castillo-Ponce (No. VA Community College). To date, 40 students have received scholarship awards totaling $66,000. The students have graduated from 19 different Fairfax County Public High Schools and gone on to attend 16 different colleges.
The William J. Foreman Memorial Scholarship Program is administered by the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia. Donations continue to be accepted in memory of Will and to continue this program. Donations are accepted at cfnova.org, a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are applied 100% to the scholarship fund.

2018 Presentation of the William J. Foreman Memorial Scholarship Awards

Scholarships of $2,000 each were presented on May 17, 2018 to Dinah Tutt (Marymount University) and Jensil Santos-Guillen (Old Dominion University). A third recipient (not shown) will be attending Columbia University.

To date, 37 students have received scholarship awards totaling $60,000. The students have graduated from 18 different Fairfax County Public High Schools and gone on to attend 16 different colleges.

Ten Year Anniversary Presentation of the William J. Foreman Memorial Scholarship Awards - May 24, 2016. Scholarships of $2,000 each were presented to (second from left, front row): Danielle Goldstein (Old Dominion University), Jamyra White (Philander Smith College), Norma Pacheco (No. Virginia Community College) and Madeline Shaw (No. Virginia Community College). To date, 31 students have received scholarship awards
totaling almost $50,000. The students have graduated from 14 different Fairfax County Public Schools high schools and gone on to attend 14 different colleges.
