Hi My name is Kathryn "Kathy" Miller i also go by the name Jaden i am wraping my time as a Meteorologist in training and i wanted to strike out on my own i will only use Foecasts from my brothers Weather service office for the washington DC Metro area and opon requst i will post other forecasts i will keep a blog i will post the link for the blog when i create it thanks till then i have a

I am a Senior At the University of Connetticut " go huskeys" (lol) and i am also doing work at my brothers office with him too thats why i can use his blogger accts for my blogs as well we are very close and i wanted to start my blogs as soon as i can lol but anyway thats a bit of where i go to school its through the UofM and UConn Joint programs as 2 colleges on the east coast it was a recent program to give residents of maryland actcess to UCONN programs even if they cant affoard to travel out of state though i can and its ok so i took advantage of both i graduate this year. I am also a Astronaut like my brother only i dont know if i will ever fly i am to young but i made it through the canadate training with the recomendation of my brother and i am greatfull to him for giving me this chance even though i may not ever fly its still an honor to be a part of it i may Join the 45th weather Squadron that forecasts for space launches and landings and such like that that would be cool. and i wouldnt have to put my life on the line like a astronaut that flys does but i would still be called an astronaut :-)

6 PM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Significant snow expected. Total snow accumulations of
5 to 10 inches expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northern and central Virginia as well as
southern Maryland.

* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 6 PM EST Sunday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult due to
snow covered and slippery roads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.

When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on
steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery,
increasing your risk of a fall.

The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can
be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Winter storm "gia" update models are trending more north and stronger storm so there for my likes in the middle atlantic area and in central va there is a winter storm warning up for Emediate DC metro area and points south and west the Emdiate DC metro area is 4 to 7 inches predicted so they upped the winter weather advisory to winter storm warning there is a advisory in effect for Baltimore and metro areas for 3 to 5 inches this is a continuing evolving situation stay tuned

this is Kat this page is not a page of "Fear Mongering" nor will it ever be i made this page to show the benifits of the field of meteorology not to spread rumors and fear i know some have started doing but i can assure you that i am not like that i just want to share something so neat as the field of meteorlogy my big brother James is a Meteorologist and well he got me intersted in it when i wsas very young so please understand i am not one to spread rumors and miss information
