Bentley and Barney Mallard-Dietz

What can we say about Bentley Mallard-Dietz? He was our beloved son for over 14 years. Everyone who met him loved him. He brought joy as Big Brother to Barney, Companion to our Grand Littles, Greeter to all who entered our home, Therapy Dog, First Dog at Reinhardt University, Aquadog, Navidoodle, and a sweet, sweet spirit. He was smart, stately, playful and loyal. We had to say goodbye to him yesterday. He will always be in our hearts. We love you Bentley.

Today is the Big 14! That’s right I am 14 years old today. A little slower than last year and can’t hear quite as well (or I just choose to ignore people), but still living the good life!!!!! Happy Birthday to ME!

UPDATE: Bentley is on the mend! Eating, drinking and has become more active. They vet said he cried non stop meaning he wants to come home. We are headed home and will pick him up in the morning. Thank you for all the well wishes.

While out of the country on a work trip, we were notified that Bentley suffered a serious health issue that required immediate and emergency surgery. He survived the surgery but has a long way to go for a full recovery. A huge THANK YOU to The Barkmore In The Country in Ooltewah for their quick response and transportation to the vets office. Their response to this emergency saved his life. Their care and compassion is unbelievable.
