Mohammad Tajvarpour made Spectrum News!

Dr. Tajvarpour, Associate Professor of Marking at SUNY Oswego, shared how he uses generative AI in his classes. He is a SUNY AI fellow and created SUNY Oswego's first ChatGPT course back in 2023.

What an exciting achievement for these amazing students from the College of Business and Entrepreneurship at SUNY Oswego!

Congratulations to our graduates earning the Certified Digital Marketing Associate credential through the partnership between the American Marketing Association and the Digital Marketing Institute:

1. Kayla Tarquinio, Business Administration major and Digital Marketing minor, who will join Wegmans Corporate this summer as a Merchandising Intern
2. Kayleigh Ann DuBois, Interactive Design major and Digital Marketing minor
3. Jaclyn Supples, Marketing major with minors in Information Science and Digital Marketing

These students have worked incredibly hard to build in-demand digital marketing skills in content creation, analytics, strategy, and social media, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished.

We are also proud that the College of Business and Entrepreneurship at SUNY Oswego is currently the only SUNY partner of the Digital Marketing Institute, providing students with access to globally recognized digital marketing credentials.

The future is bright for these talented students. Congratulations, Kayla, Kayleigh, and Jaclyn!

Last week, the College of Business and Entrepreneurship at SUNY Oswego hosted the Beta Alpha Psi Banquet to celebrate a successful year for our accounting students and faculty.

From professional development to serving the community through the VITA program, our students made a meaningful impact throughout the year.

Congratulations to Hong Wan, Professor of Finance, for winning the 2026 President's Award for Scholarly and Creative Activity at SUNY Oswego!

This award recognizes his exceptional research and scholarly accomplishments. Since 2020, he has published over 20 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Wan has earned multiple prestigious recognitions for his research, including the Eastern Finance Association Outstanding Paper Award in Corporate Finance, the Financial Management Association Best Paper Semifinalist distinction, and the Shanghai Conference on Finance and Entrepreneurship Best Paper Award. Notably, he is also a prior recipient of SUNY Oswego’s Provost’s Award for Scholarly and Creative Activity, further evidence of the sustained excellence that defines his career.

Sales Triathlon Highlights!

The Fifth Annual Sales Triathlon was a success!

Over 80 students participated in this two-day event, where they competed in sales pitches and mock interviews.

The event ended with a beautiful dinner and awards for the competition winners.

Great job to all of the students and Professor Maureen Melville for putting on a great event for our students!

The second TedX at SUNY Oswego had Ideas that Moved People!

Several COBE students and faculty helped make TEDx at SUNY Oswego a success.

Dr. Sarah Bonzo delivered a powerful talk on “Going to Gemba,” reminding us that great leadership means getting out from behind the desk and into the weeds of the work. True leadership and impact comes from leaders observing, learning, and connecting with employees and customers where the work happens.

Last year's SUNY Oswego Student Leader of the Year Award recipient, Emma Halsey, gave a touching talk on the importance of breaking down boxes and becoming your true self.

Thank you to Dr. Irene Scruton, MBA Program Director, for coaching and supporting the speakers throughout the process.

We are also incredibly proud of COBE students Meet Patel and Ty Harte, who served as strategic leaders for the event and helped make the experience possible.

And of course, the event was catered by our amazing Rich N Pour!

COBE Trivia Night!

This week we had the second annual COBE Trivia Night at the Rich N Pour Cafe!

SHRM went to the Wegmans' headquarters!

Students from the SUNY Oswego Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) chapter recently experienced HR in action during an immersive field trip to Wegmans’ Rochester headquarters, followed by a tour of the company’s flagship store.

The visit offered a behind-the-scenes look at how Wegmans’ strong culture, innovative HR practices, and purposeful organizational structure come together to create an exceptional workplace.
