Big announcement!! Alumna Joy Harper ‘02 will be speaking to students of Miami’s chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) via Google Hangouts! As a student at Miami, Joy was honored with the President’s Distinguished Service Award! Additionally, she was a member of and served as president of BSAA ! Joy earned her juris doctorate at Cleveland State Marshall School of Law and masters in accountancy at Case Western University’s Weatherhead School of Management. She currently is employed by Google where she handles finance systems, integration, treasury, and tax. NABA is led by students Adrian Awuah and Alaina Horsford . We’re very proud of Kierra (Spring 2011) who continues to be an inspiration to many 💕 with

I prayed the other night for two things. 1. To stay inspired and 2. To have more opportunity to create a positive impact on as many lives as I could and then the universe conspired to give me that opportunity. . . So thrilled to announce that I will join 49 other leaders in the Columbus Metropolitan area as part of the inaugural Columbus CEO’s Future 50 cohort. Together we will work together to ideate, brainstorm and collaborate on an action plan and project that creates meaningful, quantifiable change in Central Ohio. The project will embody the Future 50 core values—achievement, altruism, boldness, creativity and inclusivity. .

I am blessed to have leaders like who believed in me enough to nominate me for this opportunity. So grateful to have you and so many other leaders In my life. ❤️✨ I promise I will dedicate my career and my life paying it forward and bringing others along on the journey.

We are proud to announce that alumna A’Kara Harris ‘15 will join alumna Casey (Cook) McClurkin ‘10 .casey for a panel discussion with the Minority Association of Premedical Students (MAPS) . The alumnae will provide advice to our multicultural students on getting into the medical field. A’Kara is a Registered Emergency Department Nurse for Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. The event will take place on October 24th at 6pm in room 053 of Shideler Hall!
