In a recent program, 12 students from the Stanford d.school's 2-quarter “Designing Healthcare For Social Justice” class had the unique opportunity to observe and debrief several healthcare scenarios at CAPE - Center for Advanced Pediatric and Perinatal Education. These simulations facilitated an awareness of challenges and solutions to common healthcare disparities: obtaining/retaining access to appropriate services, overcoming literacy challenges, and inclusion/participation within the community.

This program was made possible though a collaboration from:
Jules Sherman, MFA, CEO Maternal Life, LLC
Lee Sanders, MD Chief of General Pediatrics at SCH and co-founder of The Complex Care Clinic at SCH
Nicole Yamada, MD, Associate Director at CAPE and Attending Neonatologist at SCH
