Today we have #10 Jessica “Hermès” Anderson
from Zeta chapter! She currently serves as our Vice President Internal and Sisterhood chair.
“When I started college, I didn’t really have a whole lot of direction on what I wanted to do socially. I was very much head down in my books and just wanna make it through. It wasn’t until my second semester of freshman year. I realize I really wanted to find a social space where I could connect and feel like I was pouring my time into something bigger than myself. I always thought being a part of a sorority would be so much fun as being an only child. I always wanted to experience what it was like to have sisters.
Join ASR truly change my full trajectory in college in such a positive way. I really broke out of my shell becoming more confident in public speaking and socializing. Joining a national board, was something that I actually never saw myself doing, but when the opportunity presented itself, I decided to take it. This is probably been the most insightful council I have been on post graduating from undergrad. As vice president and Director of sisterhood, I’ve had to hone my skills of communication and coordination. After hosting my first convention at sisterhood chair, not only was it rewarding, but I learned a lot about how I can continue to grow professionally.
I truly love my sisters and this organization with my whole heart. Even in times when I experienced stress, it feels rewarding that I can always sit back and laugh with them. I plan to have many of these sisters still in my life, especially my upcoming wedding and they will be able to see the family I begin to build after.”
If ASR has shaped your journey and you’re passionate about giving back to our sisterhood, consider applying for National Board rolling application at
