Today we have #10 Jessica “Hermès” Anderson
from Zeta chapter! She currently serves as our Vice President Internal and Sisterhood chair.

“When I started college, I didn’t really have a whole lot of direction on what I wanted to do socially. I was very much head down in my books and just wanna make it through. It wasn’t until my second semester of freshman year. I realize I really wanted to find a social space where I could connect and feel like I was pouring my time into something bigger than myself. I always thought being a part of a sorority would be so much fun as being an only child. I always wanted to experience what it was like to have sisters.

Join ASR truly change my full trajectory in college in such a positive way. I really broke out of my shell becoming more confident in public speaking and socializing. Joining a national board, was something that I actually never saw myself doing, but when the opportunity presented itself, I decided to take it. This is probably been the most insightful council I have been on post graduating from undergrad. As vice president and Director of sisterhood, I’ve had to hone my skills of communication and coordination. After hosting my first convention at sisterhood chair, not only was it rewarding, but I learned a lot about how I can continue to grow  professionally.

I truly love my sisters and this organization with my whole heart. Even in times when I experienced stress, it feels rewarding that I can always sit back and laugh with them. I plan to have many of these sisters still in my life, especially my upcoming wedding and they will be able to see the family I begin to build after.”

If ASR has shaped your journey and you’re passionate about giving back to our sisterhood, consider applying for National Board rolling application at
alphasigmarho.org/national-board-application!

Want to learn more about National Board life? Be on the lookout this weekend for Jessica to share her “Day in the Life” and any Q&A on our story!

💙 World Ovarian Cancer Day 💙

Today is a reminder to slow down and really listen to our bodies. Ovarian cancer is often called the “silent” disease because the signs can feel small or easy to brush off, but they MATTER.

Things like feeling bloated, having pelvic pain, getting full really quickly, or needing to use the bathroom more often than usual shouldn’t be ignored if they don’t go away.

There’s no simple screening test for ovarian cancer, which makes awareness and paying attention to your body so important.

Let’s support survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and continue advocating for research, education, and better outcomes.

Featuring #194 Bianca “Mizuki” Chu from Beta Chapter! She currently serves as the Vice President of External Affairs, Director of Finance, and Director of West Expansion.

“I joined ASR pretty late in my college career, so I wasn’t expecting to have the full Greek life
experience. But when people say sisters are for life, they really mean it. My littles are some of the most important people in my life, and every year I still get to meet new sisters and build connections across different generations, which is something I didn’t expect but really value. Our current National Board is made up of some of the best people I’ve ever worked with. Joining NB honestly gave me some of my closest friendships. Everyone is so supportive and uplifting, and through all the highs and lows, I find myself really grateful that life somehow led me here.

In terms of my roles on NB, each one has pushed me in different ways. As Vice President of External Affairs, I got to connect with leaders outside of ASR and see how similar a lot of organizations are, regardless of size or name. As Director of Finance, I was able to build on my skills in finance and investments, while also helping start new initiatives like the Internship Program and the National ASR Foundation. And as Director of West Expansion, I’ve been able to start building a presence on the West Coast, which has been something I’ve wanted to do since I was an Active.

There’s still a lot I want to accomplish with everything we’ve started, but I am really excited to see where ASR is headed over the next few years. At the end of the day, the best part is being able to do all of this for the sisters I love, with the sisters I love.”

If ASR has shaped your journey and you’re passionate about giving back to our sisterhood, consider applying for National Board rolling application at

We are similar to each other and come from a smiliar background and have the same goals post grad. We were both looking for a friendship big little relationship. Happy Founders’ Day! ❤️🦢

28 years ago, twelve extraordinary women at the University of Georgia came together with a vision to create a space where Asian-American women could find sisterhood, celebrate culture, and uplift one another. Through resilience and determination, they built something far greater than themselves, a legacy that continues to grow today.

From one chapter to a nationwide sisterhood, Alpha Sigma Rho has expanded across campuses and communities. What began as a single vision has blossomed into a powerful network of women who lead, support, and inspire, united by our shared values and strengthened by our diversity.

Because of our founders, we are able to continue breaking barriers, creating opportunities, and building lifelong bonds of our sisterhood throughout our chapters.

On April 2nd, we honor our founders: Irene Chien, Young Jeon, Juliette Taylor, Jessica Yoo, Suzanne Yoo, Jasmine Yu, Sandra Chu, Debbie Kwon, Angela Lu, Lynn Nguyen, Anne See, and Anna Suh. Thank you for laying the foundation for everything we are today.

To every chapter, every alumna, and every sister, you are part of our sorority’s history.
