Gabrielle is a school counselor at Lumberton High School. She shared this with us: My experience in UNCP’s Professional School Counseling Graduate Program was life changing. One of the aspects I value the most was the flexibility of the hybrid course schedule. As a young mother, being able to balance graduate school with other responsibilities while still receiving a high-quality education made the program accessible and manageable.

Hi everyone! I’m Dr. Jina Yang, and I recently joined the Department of Counseling at UNCP as an Assistant Professor. I earned my master’s degree in Counseling, with a concentration in School Counseling, from Johns Hopkins University and completed my doctoral degree in Counseling and Supervision at James Madison University this May. Prior to coming to UNCP, I worked as a school counselor with Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia. My current scholarly interests include counselor identity, professional dispositions, relational-cultural approaches to counseling, and linguistic justice in counseling. I’m grateful and excited to be part of the counseling program!
