The Delta Alpha Sigma Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was established April 20, 1949. Altamese Dudley , President; Soror Irma Cole Buford , Vice-President; Soror Genevieve L. Lowe , Corresponding Secretary and Chaplain; Soror Helen Andrews , Recording Secretary; Soror Martiel A. Watson , Treasurer and Sergeant-At Arms; and Soror Katherine Goldsmith , Journalist. As a result of
the nomenclature revision in the 1956 National Convention, Delta Alpha Sigma Chapter became Pensacola Alumnae Chapter. After steady progress through the years guided by efficient women and the work of loyal and alert members, Pensacola Alumnae Chapter has grown out of a colorful and glorious past into one of the most outstanding Chapters in Delta and the Southern Region. Pensacola Alumnae's goals include making significant contributions to social welfare, educational improvements, and cultural enrichment. We will continue to strive to uphold our great tradition of service to the community through Delta Sigma Theta's Five-Point Program Thrust of Physical and Mental Health, Educational Development, Economic Development, International Awareness and Involvement, and Political Awareness and Involvement.
