Each week our health information management global health learners experience public health in the beautiful city of Rome, Italy. While we start off with Canvas and in person classroom meetings, we learn how to navigate a city with accessible & safe public transportation infrastructure. This week students will get to use their bus pass to explore the history of a current global health risk - ‘measles’ using epigraphic evidence on the popularity of Asclepius during the Antonine Plague in Ancient Rome, followed by a stroll thru Trastevere for a great☕️

There are many journeys our students on and early this year - our students got to be a part of two great case competitions:
+ 2022 Big Data Health Science Case Competition, University of South Carolina (2nd Prize)
+ 2022 Cleveland Clinic Case Competition (Top 16)
And of course, more journeys to come in the future.

Two College of Public Health graduate student teams won honors in recent national case competitions, contests that asked university teams from around the country to solve specific healthcare management challenges within a short period of time.

The Data Challenge is an online event for students and professionals in healthcare organized by the Department of Health Services Administration and Policy at Temple University's College of Public Health, co-sponsored by Next-Gen Intelligent Science Training (NGIST) and Temple Data Science Community.

This event is open to individuals in the health informatics, health services, health policy and management, and biomedical informatics fields as well as other related disciplines. The Challenge will enable participants to use their informatics skills and public health expertise to generate new knowledge, develop translational health applications and make recommendations on evidence-based health services and policies to improve public health.

Scholarships:

+ Scholarships are available for students at our Masters of Science (MS) in Health Informatics program at Temple University, College of Public Health.

+ When you apply, you will be automatically considered for scholarships based on the admission criteria. You will not need to apply for scholarships separately.

STEM-designated degree program:

+ Our Master’s of Science in Health Informatics falls under a STEM-designated degree program: education in Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

+ International students enrolled in STEM-designated degree programs are eligible for 36 months of Optional Practical Training (OPT).

CAHIIM-accredited:

+ Our MS HI program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
