Drexel SCIS congratulates Information Science Assistant Professor Afsaneh Razi, PhD, who has received a prestigious National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award of $681,393 over five years.

Razi plans to gain an understanding of the risks teens may face when interacting with AI companion chatbots and develop counteracting frameworks and tools.

Looking ahead, Razi emphasized that the CAREER Award aligns closely with her broader commitment to mentorship and research oriented toward the public’s interest.

We’re excited to introduce you to Tiffany Do, PhD, assistant professor of computer science here at Drexel’s School of Computer and Information Sciences (SCIS)!
 
Dr. Do teaches courses focused on human-centered AI, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and game development. Her research explores using AI to customize experiences for people, highlighting their unique identities and viewpoints.

Drexel is pleased to announce that Moogega “Moo” Cooper, MS ’08, PhD ’09, Planetary Protection Lead for the Mars rover “Perseverance” and Group Supervisor at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, will be the 2026 University-wide Commencement keynote speaker. 🐉🚀

A Drexel alumna turned real-life “Guardian of the Galaxy,” Cooper helps protect Mars from Earth’s contaminants while advancing the search for life beyond our planet. She played a key role in Mars 2020, including “Perseverance” and “Ingenuity,” and continues to inspire the next generation through her work and outreach.
