With a focus on his current st
ate of residence, North Carolina, which is the "Nation's Most Military-Friendly State," DeCandia interviewed 26 men and women who serve. These interviews were transcribed and ultimately 18 soldiers' stories are staged in this dynamic solo documentary theater piece under the direction of Joseph Megel (processseries.unc.edu). "Silhouettes of Service" hopes shed light on the sacrifice made by the brave 1% who protect the remaining 99% of the US public. SOS was awarded the 2016 Community Impact Award from UNC Chapel Hill.
