The South Asian Students Society of Temple University is open to any student, faculty or alumni who is passionate about the rich South Asian Culture, and shares the belief that achieving peace and unity between the South Asian regions and its people - regardless of where they are - is paramount. An organization is only as strong as the dedication of its members, and we hope that TU SASS becomes an
influential part of the Greater Philadelphia area. Our mission is to achieve unity through the strength and development of our community. The purpose of this organization is to build a strong community by bringing together all South Asian and non-South Asian students, faculty and alumni at Temple University who share a strong passion for the rich and diverse South Asian culture. We aim to break the divide between those from different South Asian backgrounds by encouraging collaborative efforts with other cultural student organizations, coming together for community service events that benefit the South Asian region, and providing a support network for all our members. We hope to not only spread South Asia’s vibrant culture across campus, but also educate those around us about the social and political issues facing the South Asian region and its people.
