Y’all know we couldn’t let Juneteenth come around without showing some love to our HBCUs! 🎓

From the first HBCU to the newest graduates walking across the stage, these schools have been changing lives, building leaders, and creating community for generations.

We’re honored to celebrate that legacy this weekend at the Philadelphia Juneteenth Parade! 🎉

WE OUTSIDEEEEE, FOR THE COMMUNITY!! 🎉✊🏾

This year, HBCU Bound is turning our participation in the Annual Philadelphia Juneteenth Parade into a Community Service & Physical Health Initiative.

We’re looking for volunteers to walk through West Philly while handing out educational resources and giveaways to the community. Bring your bike, skates, rollerblades, jump rope, or just yourself. We’re making this a walking block party! 🚲🛼🎶

Volunteers receive:
✅ Free HBCU Bound T-Shirt
✅ Community Service Hours
✅ Water & Refreshments
✅ Live DJ Experience 
✅ Live Broadcast Experience
✅ A chance to serve the community while celebrating Juneteenth

And when the walk is over, stick around and enjoy the Juneteenth Festival at Malcolm X Park with vendors, music, food, and more.

The parade takes place on Father’s Day 6/21 and is expected to conclude no later than 2 PM.

Dr. Cosby is the first HBCU president to shout out The HBCU Encyclopedia and we’re honored to have Simmons lead the way.

Located in Louisville, Kentucky and founded in 1879, Simmons College is a private Christian liberal arts HBCU with a historic mission of educating and uplifting Black scholars and leaders and currently focuses on academic accessibility through an open enrollment process.
