University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix The College of Medicine - Phoenix is a full, four-year program based in downtown Phoenix.

As early as 1983, medical students at the UA College of Medicine were taking required clerkships in internal medicine, pediatrics, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology and family practice, as well as clinical electives, in the Phoenix area. In 1992, a Phoenix program was formally established, allowing third- and fourth-year UA medical students to complete rotations at affiliated hospitals in Phoen

ix. In August 2004, the Arizona Board of Regents approved an agreement to create an independently operated medical school now called the UA College of Medicine in Phoenix to a four-year program. An unprecedented statewide collaboration of the Arizona Board of Regents, the three state universities, the City of Phoenix, the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) and Phoenix-area teaching hospitals, guided by a governor-appointed commission, led to the establishment of the Phoenix Biomedical Campus in downtown Phoenix where the UA medical school resides.

Since its conception in 2024, the Inclusive Hair, Inclusive Care project has sought to provide a more diverse range of hair and skin care products for hospital patients.

The project has won competitions, received grants and has been distributed in focus groups within the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care System and the Antepartum and Medical Oncology floor.

To fulfill the mission of expanding education and creating pathways to careers in science and medicine, the University of Arizona offers graduate programs with the goal of creating a healthier Arizona. And on May 15, graduates of these programs were recognized for completing the arduous yet rewarding journey through their respective master’s degrees. 🎓

The celebration honored 16 Pathway Scholars — who earned their master’s in medical sciences from the University of Arizona Graduate College — and three students who completed the master of clinical research and one who completed the master of clinical translational sciences. 🩺
