Our May chapter meeting was a beautiful tribute to AKA legacies as we celebrated our 2nd Annual Legacy showcase, parade and brunch, and our first celebration as an official chapter.

This year’s celebration was especially meaningful as we honored both familial and sisterly AKA connections, from mothers and daughters to sisters, line sisters, chapter sisters, and beyond. The day continued with a lovely Legacy Brunch where connections deepened, memories were shared, and laughter filled the room.

From coordinated looks to joyful moments, it was a true celebration of the bonds that unite us.

💚 Shoutout to our creative and hardworking Sisterly Relations Committee!

🩷💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🩷💚

In the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Mid-Atlantic Region, we recognize that mental health is just as important as physical health.

Life can be demanding, but taking care of you is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

✨ Check in on yourself
✨ Reach out to a Sister or friend
✨ Set boundaries and protect your peace
✨ Seek help when you need it, strength lives in asking

Together, we can break the stigma, build safe spaces, and remind one another that no one has to walk this journey alone.

Let’s continue to uplift, support, and show up for each other, because sisterhood is powerful, and so is healing.

Yesterday, Alpha Delta Chi Omega hosted its 2nd “Teas Tarts & Trusts” program. This event was powerful & impactful!

The Empower Our Families and Build Our Economic Wealth Committees were thrilled to welcome Attorney Robin Hicks-Guinn once again as a guest speaker! Attendees had the opportunity to learn about senior life planning, developing wills, trusts, estate planning, and understanding guardianship vs. power of attorney.

North Carolina State laws and policies shape these critical decisions. Everyone left feeling empowered with practical knowledge for themselves and their families.

Impactful discussions like these remind us that knowledge is a vital tool in building security and wealth within our families. We look forward to continuing these kinds of conversations and learning opportunities within the South Charlotte Community.

What a beautiful day of service, sisterhood, and sustainability!

The Alpha Delta Chi Omega Chapter was proud to partner with our Charlotte area sister chapters, Alpha Lambda Omega, Rho Psi Omega, and Omega Iota Omega for our Spring Shredding and Recycling Day! This event aligns with Alpha Kappa Alpha’s international programming initiative, Enhance Our Environment.

Together, we helped our community safely dispose of documents, electronics, clothing, and recyclables while doing our part to protect and preserve our environment.

We would like to give a special thanks to MAR’s Recycling & Shredding Company, Harding University High School, and Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont for being amazing community partners for this event!

When we work together, we truly make a difference!
