After nearly four decades of dedication to teaching and mentoring at Rutgers, the Department of Computer Science is proud to celebrate the retirement of Professor Seshadri Venugopal.

Throughout his career, Professor Venugopal has not only adapted to change but has encouraged others to embrace it. When asked what advice he would give to a new faculty members entering the department, his response captured both his insight and sense of humor: “Bring your AI surfboard and hang on tight!”

Please join us in congratulating Professor Venugopal.

Join us in congratulating CS Majors Daivik and Shrenik Patel. Shown here, a short clip of their experience at RU.

Reposted
Daivik and Shrenik Patel graduated from the Honors College Class of 2026 in three years with dual degrees in mathematics and computer science. Both are Paul Robeson Centennial Scholars. Daivik is heading to Cambridge for graduate studies in AI. Shrenik is starting a fully funded PhD in Computer Science at Oxford 📚

As the student speakers, their message to fellow graduates wasn’t about credentials.

It was about sonder, the realization that every person around you is carrying a life as complex as your own. Meaning isn’t found in what we accomplish. It’s found in how we show up for each other ❤️🎓
