On Saturday, October 17, 2026, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® from chapters statewide convened at DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids for the 2026 Michigan Cluster Conference. Under the theme Champions Define Greatness: Greatness Begins with Us, the conference formally introduced the Michigan Cluster to the 2026 to 2030 International Program.
Led by Great Lakes Regional Director Jackie Davis-Betserai, the conference reflected her commitment to preparing chapters with clarity, structure, and purpose, evident in its thoughtful programming and strong coordination among regional and cluster leaders.
International First Vice President Carrie J. Clark graced the Michigan Cluster with her presence for the full day of programming. International President and CEO Charletta Wilson Jacks phoned in to address the cluster, commending Regional Director Davis-Betserai and the regional team for weaving the administration’s theme, Championing Service, Empowering Sisterhood, Transforming the World, into every part of the conference with precision.
Members were introduced to the signature program, AKA Foster the Future: From Here to Hope, and the eight program targets that will guide chapter service over the next four years. For Tau Alpha Omega Chapter, the conference affirmed that our community work aligns with these initiatives.
We extend our deepest gratitude to International, regional and chapter’s exceptional leadership. We also thank the Cluster Coordinators, Conference Co-Chairmen, and host chapters Nu Phi Omega, Iota Sigma Omega, and Delta Chi.
