The geldings take their mid morning nap time seriously and we can’t help but think they are more comfortable on the StableComfort stall mattresses.

They were relatively easy to install and trim in. We used the 12x12 kits in our box stalls and the 12x24 kits for our foaling stalls. We can’t wait to see how they hold up to hoof traffic and how it impacts our bedding costs and the horses comfort this year!

This weekend we hosted the Flight Line Dressage Shows Mountaineer Flight 1, the first USDF sanctioned show of the season 🎉

This weekend we saw …
🐴 a junior rider compete at their very first sanctioned event
🐴 a rider earning High Point after being out with major surgery
🐴 our students learning about USDF competition management from one of the best show managers in the business
🐴 baby horses making serious progress (swipe to video to see one that caught our eye as having a ton of raw talent)

This week Dr. Smith traveled to Texas for the National Association of Equine Affiliated Academics annual conference. Huge thank you to Dr. Huseman at Texas A&M University for hosting the conference!

Some high points of the conference included:
🐴 serving as a panelist for the workshop on the value of teaching philosophy statements
🤎 learning about innovative teaching tools others are developing for their classrooms
🐴 recognizing her deserving colleagues with NAEAA awards
🤎 watching the student ambassador she has mentored lead sessions and receive the student travel award
