🚧 Traffic heads-up for next week

Northbound Custer Parkway at Campbell Road will have temporary lane closures Monday and Tuesday, October 26–27, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. due to gas-line relocation work. Plan alternate routes if you regularly drive through the area.

Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes, including Cap Rock Drive to Custer Parkway or Nantucket Drive to Copper Ridge Drive to Custer Parkway. Traffic-control signs will be in place, and drivers should use caution and watch for changing traffic patterns while traveling through the area.

🚧 TRAFFIC UPDATE 🚧 : The latest is an upcoming traffic shift set to begin Monday, 10/12, between Lookout Road and Canyon Creek Drive.

Southbound Custer traffic will move onto the newly constructed southbound roadway. One lane will remain open in each direction, with traffic using the outside lanes while the inside lanes are closed for median improvements, landscaping and irrigation work. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution while traveling through the corridor.

- Pleasant Valley Drive to Lookout Road: Median landscaping, irrigation and parkway restoration are underway and are expected to be completed by late October.
- Lookout Road to Canyon Creek Drive: Pavement replacement is nearing completion. The newly constructed southbound roadway is expected to open to southbound traffic with the Oct. 12 shift, after which median landscaping, irrigation and parkway restoration will continue.
- Canyon Creek Drive to Campbell Road: Pavement replacement is expected to be completed by November, weather permitting.

Drivers should also be aware of several current traffic impacts along the corridor. Between Renner Road and Lookout Road, one lane remains open in each direction while crews complete median landscaping. Additional lane closures are expected at the Renner Road and Custer Parkway intersection as crews complete corner ramps, sidewalks and median work.

Near Campbell Road, traffic is currently shifted to the newly constructed northbound side of Custer Parkway, with one lane operating in each direction. Additional traffic shifts and lane closures are expected at the Campbell Road intersection to allow crews to complete median improvements and Atmos Energy gas relocation work.

Construction activities and traffic patterns will continue to change as work progresses.

Richardson’s 2026 National Night Out, set for TONIGHT from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. “Red, White, and Back the Blue” is the theme selected by Richardson Police Chief Gary Tittle.

NNO participants are encouraged to bring canned goods to registered parties that will be collected by First Responders and Richardson City officials, then donated to local families through the Network of Community Ministries food pantry.

“Red, White, and Back the Blue” is the theme selected by Richardson Police Chief Gary Tittle for Richardson’s 2026 National Night Out, set for Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The Canyon Creek HOA, in partnership with the City of Richardson, invites Block Captains to register neighborhood National Night Out parties by Friday, September 25, through the Richardson Police Department registration page: https://www.richardsonpolice.net/.../nno-block-party

After registering, please contact [email protected] to reserve a Canyon Creek HOA NNO yard sign for your party.

FINAL CALL for Parade participants!!! If you want to be in the Parade, please register early to avoid the rush! Don't miss the July 4th Parade and celebration.

To avoid a mad rush on July 4th, PLEASE sign up in advance at the link below if you wish to be in the Parade. Registrants on July 4th MUST register by 9:30AM to be eligible in the contest. Any registrations after this time may join the parade but will not be eligible to win a trophy.

Canyon Creek Country Club will have food and beverages for sale as well (you can use cash, credit card if you are not a member). There will be a Trophy for each category and this year, a special Grand Prize Trophy will be awarded after the Parade by the DJ Station at the Canyon Creek Country Club.
