The Iota Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated Iota Pi Lambda was officially established as a chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated on December 22, 1969 in Richmond Heights, Florida.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated is the first collegiate Greek-lettered fraternal organization created by African Americans and whose membership extends to men of all races, religions, and cultural backgrounds. Brothers united to create a chapter that would serve the needs of residents in south Miami-Dade through the fraternity’s presence. Through the spirit of our Fraternity, the Iota Pi

Lambda Graduate Chapter has endeavored to perform services that improve the communal infrastructure of Southern Miami. For over 40 years, our chapter has supported many charitable ventures that include donations to local families in need, social and civic organizations, and international relief campaigns. Locally, IPL ambitiously works to provide scholarships to high school seniors, donations to youth sports teams, school supplies to elementary school classrooms, Thanksgiving food baskets to needy families, and Christmas toys to children residing throughout the area.
