Celebrating a big economic win for the Rochester region is a STELLAR way to spend a Friday afternoon. RIT is honored to join our partners, led by the University of Rochester, in creating a national hub for laser research, education, entrepreneurship, and workforce development. Thank you the NSF for believing in the STELLAR project. And thank you to our congressional delegation and the state of New York, including Senator Chuck Schumer U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Congressman Joe Morelle, Congressman Nick Langworthy, Rep. Claudia Tenney, Governor Kathy Hochul, Monroe County Executive Adam J. Bello, Mayor Malik Evans and Empire State Development's Vincent Esposito for sharing in this vision and incredible support.

This successful reaccreditation reflects contributions from hundreds of members of the RIT community who participated in working groups, provided feedback, contributed evidence, hosted campus evaluators, and helped advance the university's continuous improvement efforts throughout the self-study process. I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation for the thorough and collegial review process, noting that the findings accurately reflect RIT’s culture, achievements, and aspirations.

Rochester Institute of Technology has officially been reaffirmed for accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

Jeff and Joyce have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to RIT through their leadership, service, and generosity over many years. This gift invests in the people who shape the future of our university: our students, faculty, and academic leaders.

RIT has received a $24 million commitment from Board of Trustees member Jeff Harris ’75 and President’s Roundtable member and College of Liberal Arts National Council chair Joyce Pratt!

Since 1985, the couple has supported scholarships, professorships, academic programs, and student initiatives across the university. Now, their generous gift will help prepare graduates who will shape the direction of technological change.

Last week we had another opportunity to visit with alumni, parents, prospective students and friends of RIT, this time in Washington DC. We had such a wonderful time meeting so many of you and hearing your stories. Thank you for the opportunity to share the latest on RIT's strategic framework with you. And thank you, Tiger family, for all you do to help this university continue to flourish!
