From Brazil🇧🇷 to the pool deck at , Arthur Vituri Marques’ journey is one defined by determination, leadership, and a passion for helping others grow.
Growing up in São Paulo, Brazil, Arthur moved to the United States at 18 to pursue his education and continue his swimming career. His journey as a swimmer took him to different states, schools and communities, eventually leading him to Saginaw Valley State University before continuing his academic and coaching journey at Lewis.
Now pursuing his MBA in Strategic Leadership and Project Management at Lewis, Arthur is developing the skills to become a stronger leader, communicator and problem-solver—both in the classroom and on the pool deck.
For Arthur, earning his degree is about more than personal achievement. He hopes to use what he has learned to create environments where student-athletes feel supported, challenged and motivated to grow—not only as athletes, but as people and future leaders.
After Lewis, Arthur plans to continue his career in college athletics and take the next step in coaching as a full-time assistant coach or head coach. His experiences at Lewis are helping prepare him to lead a program, develop student-athletes and make a lasting impact throughout his coaching career.
From an 18-year-old pursuing a dream in a new country to a graduate student and coach helping shape the next generation, Arthur’s story is a powerful example of where perseverance, education and passion can lead.
