ATTENTION STUDENTS: Do not pay someone to help complete your tax return! There are FREE resources available:
> The IRS website lists several legitimate companies that will allow you to file for free. Review the list to see if you qualify. http://www.irs.gov/uac/Free-File:-Do-Your-Federal-Taxes-for-Free
> Your local library will have volunteers available to assist you & provide guidance.
Don't be tempted by promises of a quick refund because these are usually refund anticipation LOANS that carry a significant fee. The IRS usually processes refunds in 2-3 weeks. Don't let the excitement of getting paid quickly cost you extra money! :)
Grant disbursements were processed for students who met their hours December 7th. Refund checks should be mailed by December 14th, for students who have a grant credit after their expenses are deducted.
