Pagan Student Association Flagler College's Pagan Student Association
(2)

Open to all students and staff members, regardless of religion or lack thereof, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other factor of individuality. Our purpose is to provide a safe place for on-campus pagans to discuss their religious beliefs, as well as allow those of other faiths to ask questions regarding paganism, to share ideas about how to continue pagan practices at school in accordance with residence hall rules, to open a dialogue with those of the Abrahamic Faiths about the existence of Paganism, and to find unity among others who practice pagan beliefs in a judgment free zone. We also hope to create a strong union with other religious organizations on-campus through interfaith discussions, all in an attempt to create a strong interfaith community at Flagler College.

Mission: To allow on-campus pagans of Flagler College a safe place to discuss their beliefs and practices, as well as educating the general public about the practices and beliefs of various forms of paganism.

"The Other Crowd," "The Good People," "The Wee Folk," and "Them" are a few of the names given to the fairies by the people of Ireland. Honored for their gifts and feared for their wrath, the fairies remind us to respect the world we live in and the forces we cannot see. In these tales of fairy fo...

Wicked W.I.T.C.H: The 60s Feminist Protestors Who Hexed Patriarchy

Hope everyone is having a great International Women's day! Today we want to share some information on an amazing group of women who took on the name W.I.T.C.H. during the Second Wave Feminist movement.

Forty-eight years ago, a coven of self-styled witches gathered to curse Wall Street bankers, beauty pageants, and the Playboy Club. We speak to two former W.I.T.C.H. members about their spellbinding campaign against sexism.

The Sides of Satan in Movies, Music, and TV

Angie Shumov writes a very interesting analysis of how the idea of the Devil is changed and portrayed by different media outlets in this article published by National Geographic. It is an interesting look at the contemporary rendering of a religious figure, and how that figure now fills different molds. A good read, and very interesting too.

Do you dare to dance with the devil? What about laugh with, cry with, or even sympathize with? Well that may depend on which kind of devil you’re talking about, as there are many ways in which the devil of the underworld is portrayed.

What Is a Supermoon?

Here's a little information on the interesting phenomenon of the moon called the Supermoon. With the full moon looming it seemed important to try and provide as much information on the upcoming astrological event as possible. Here Space.com talks about what a Supermoon is, and why the Blue Supermoon is so special this year!

A large, bright ‘supermoon’ happens when the full moon coincides with the moon's closest approach to Earth in its orbit (called perigee).

What Do the World’s Religions Say About Miracles?

Do you believe in miracles? Here are a few religions' opinions on the idea of miraculous happenings. Of course, these are not the only beliefs out there and it varies person to person, but this is the common consensus from Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism on the subject. It was cool to see how these opinions contrast or align!

When Thomas Jefferson was in the White House, he spent some of his spare time going through the New Testament and excising all the references to miraculous occurrences, in an effort to focus only on Jesus’ moral and philosophical teachings. He ended up cutting out nearly half of the text. As forme...

Paranormal reality show blames Witch community for hauntings

A very interesting situation in which misconceptions and pop culture ideals reflect on the pagan community. This article discusses the hit paranormal TV show Ghost Adventures and the episode "Golden Ghost Town" taking place in Oregon. The episode places blame in the hauntings on local "occult" activity. What do you think? Do you think this is a gross misinterpretation of paganism, or do you think the shows creators where right in their assumptions?

WOLF CREEK, Ore. -- The paranormal reality show Ghost Adventures (2008- ) blamed a local Witch community for the hauntings being reported in a Oregon ghost town. Airing Sept. 23, the episode "Golden Ghost Town" finds the Ghost Adventures crew in an old mining town in southwestern Oregon. The old tow

Australian Aboriginal Creation Stories

It's hard to believe that a culture that now only takes up 3% of the Australian population once spoke more that 250 different, distinct, languages. The Aboriginal people find their roots in the "Dreamtime" and share many stories of creation, life, and songs of the gods. This wonderful article by National Geographic tells of the origin story of the Aboriginal Australian people, and how they believe they were descended from the spirits.
