Female Lead Research Team Save Tortoises While Breaking Barriers

This past year, Professor Barbara Blonder teamed up with current student Kyra Liedtke and Flagler College Alumni Sloane Stephens to complete a recently published study in 'Science Direct.' Ed McGinley, Assistant Professor of Natural Sciences, was recently featured on First Coast News with Blue Ocean Sails - Exploring Oceans and Estuaries, a local non-profit that supports students, educators, citizen and research scientists interested in marine biology. Joined by the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum's Archaeological Program, they set out to look for phytoplankton that could be potentially harmful to the local waterways. For our students, this is a true living classroom experience!

As our residential Saints move in this weekend, we couldn’t be more excited to start a new year on the right foot. Our students, faculty and staff proved their dedication to our Core Values last semester by keeping each other safe at Flagler, as well as the St. Augustine Community. We’re continuing these efforts by requiring masks, as well as social distancing across campus. Together, we can be citizens with integrity, and thoughtful stewards of those around us. Welcome back to Flagler, Saints!

“Trying to balance living at home where I did not have the stability to support my online learning was a major challenge for me. Thanks to the generous donors who made my scholarship possible and offered me excellent mentoring through this crisis, I was able to return to campus this semester and continue my studies in an environment that offers support at every turn.”
- Eric Silva-Gomez, '22 Political Science Major

Like Eric, many students need support on their journey to graduation. As the year comes to a close, we are reminded of the incredible generosity of our #FlaglerFamily.

Thank you!

Looking for a good close hotel for new student weekend any suggestions appreciated
Hello - any news on Spring 2021 graduation?? Have a senior but we have heard nothing!!
Hey families! If you have a student that is heading to Flagler this fall, come on over to the Class of 2025 page!
Hey Y’all, Does anyone know when the mailroom will reopen? I had some packages sent to my daughter, but the usps tracking info keeps saying “attempted to deliver” “mailroom closed” “usps will reattempt”.
Is the housing department answering emails at this time?
My son is a proud graduate of Flagler. I have a condo near the outlets that I am hoping to rent out to a good kid, who's parents are willing to sign the lease. (Delete if this is not allowed).
Hi everyone, wanted to see if anyone had information about the May 2020 graduation ceremony on 12/12. The graduates have been asked to submit a photo to be displayed while their name is called. Does this mean they aren't physically walking across the stage? Or will the photo be displayed along with their name while walking across the stage? TIA‍🎓‍🎓
Looking for extra tickets for the December 12th - 7:00pm commencement ceremony. If you have a Spring 2020 graduate and are not going to be attending, I am looking for 4 tickets so that our 70 yr old grandparents would be able to see their granddaughter walk across the stage. Please contact me. Thanks!
I hope this is permitted...please advise if not. I have started a Class of 2025 Flager parents' page if anyone is interested. https://www.facebook.com/groups/344497130242810 My son will be a freshman next summer. We are from Colorado and hope to 'meet' others whose kids will be heading to Flagler next fall. 😃
Our son has termite evidence in his dorm room and made a maintenance request. I’m curious, How do you treat for termites?
Freshman parent here asking if other parents have students having pretty big issues with the dining situation? Both quality of food and hours of availability.
Just curious if any other parents are concerned that students are being charged lab fees with no labs. I understand the courses that are utilizing online labs as I am sure there is a fee for those sites. However, the courses not using these online sites and using free sites are still being charged lab fees for a service/lab not being utilized.
