We are excited to announce that the Undergraduate Admission Office at Hamline University will resume hosting appointment-only, on-campus visits beginning Tuesday, July 21! 🎉

While we’ve been happily connecting with many of you virtually, we know how important a physical visit to our campus is for our prospective students and families. Our team has reviewed guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health and collaborated with Hamline Public Safety professionals to put new visit protocols in place. We take your health and the health of your family seriously and we thank you for trusting us with your campus visit.

We will continue offering virtual information sessions and scheduling virtual meetings with admission staff Monday through Friday, and our virtual campus tour is still available on our website, should you prefer to get a preview of our campus from the comfort of your home.

Please note, we are not able to accommodate walk-in visitors at this time. If you have questions about campus visits, or would like to schedule a visit over the phone, please contact our Hamline Experience Coordinator at 651-523-2014.

Click here to schedule your visit today: www.hamline.edu/undergraduate/admission/visit

Request a Virtual Meeting with Undergraduate Admissions

A message to our prospective students and their families from the Vice President of Enrollment at Hamline University:

At this time, Hamline University has made the decision to suspend all on-campus visits until further notice. We are actively scheduling virtual meetings with an admission counselor and our virtual tour is also available if you would like to see campus from the comfort of your home. Our upcoming events, such as Admitted Student Day, Hamline Firsts, and Just for Juniors, will no longer occur as on-campus events as planned. Instead, we will be offering virtual programs to help our prospective students learn about the Hamline community. Stay tuned for more information. Updates will be sent via email.

With high schools and testing centers closed throughout the United States and across the globe, we recognize that new stressors have surfaced for students who are trying to complete their applications for the Fall 2020 term. Our admission staff is here to work with you and answer any questions or concerns that you may have. Please contact our office at [email protected] and your admission counselor will contact you to put a plan in place. We are still accepting applications for the Fall 2020 term. The link to our application is below.

We would also like to share that we have extended our enrollment deposit deadline for incoming first year students to June 1, 2020. We recognize the widespread implications of COVID-19 and the impact that this quickly-evolving situation is having on our students. We want to assure you that we are committed to working together as you navigate decisions about your future college plans.

The Hamline community is focused on the care of our students, staff, faculty and our extended community, which includes our future Pipers. We are in a challenging and uncertain time. However, we will get through it together. Courage and kindness, in alignment with the most accurate and timely medical advice, should continue to guide the actions we all take toward each other.

We look forward to connecting with you and encourage you to contact us in the Office of Undergraduate Admission with any questions or concerns at [email protected] or 651-523-2207.

03/13/2020

The Just for Juniors event that was planned for this Saturday, March 14, in the Anderson Center at Hamline University has been cancelled.

Hamline is following COVID-19 guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health. As of Thursday, March 12, the Department of Health has not recommended closures of institutions. You can read more about Hamline’s COVID-19 procedures here: hamline.edu/covid-19. However, given the size of the audience and the close proximity for participation that the Just for Juniors event requires, we have made the decision to cancel.

Please know that at this time we are still planning to host another Just for Juniors event on Saturday, May 9. We encourage you to use the link below to register for this event. Hamline University is also still scheduling individual campus visits. A virtual tour is available if you would like to see campus from the comfort of your home or wherever you may be.

The Hamline community is focused on the care of our students, staff, faculty and our extended community, which includes you as our prospective students. We look forward to working with you. We encourage you to contact us in the Office of Undergraduate Admission with any questions or concerns at 651-523-2207.

Happy birthday, Hamline University! As the oldest university in the state of Minnesota, today we turn 165. Celebrations are in order for all of the Pipers that make up our community: past, present, and future.

Happy 165th birthday, Hamline! On this day in 1854, Hamline officially became a university. Did you know that our campus was originally located in Red Wing, MN? The university moved to St. Paul after the original location was closed in 1869. This is what the old Old Main building used to look like.

Happy #NationalComingOutDay to all of our Pipers: past, present, and future!

Happy #NationalComingOutDay to all of our Pipers: past, present, and future!

Happy National Coming Out Day to all of our Hamline Community. National Coming Out Day (NCOD) was founded on October 11, 1988 by Robert Eichsberg and Jean O'Leary marking the anniversary of the 19987 March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights.

We also recognize that for many people coming out is not an option, and that is okay too. Know that you are valued, loved, and cared for, at Hamline we want to recognize everyone's ability to live authentically with who they are right now, no matter if they are out, questioning their identity, or not ready to tell others. Please know your identity and experience as a queer person is valid.

One of our student workers, Conner Suddick '19, reflected on why this day is important to him. "National Coming Out Day is important because it allows me to celebrate what was one of the most difficult parts of my life. Coming from a community in Wisconsin that ridiculed and dismissed LGBTQIA+ identities, Coming Out Day allows me to celebrate how my life has transformed since then, and embrace a part of me that I kept hidden for so long. National Coming Out Day exemplifies the hope I have for not only my future, but the LGBTQIA+ community in its entirety."
