BEACON recently helped the Chesapeake Housing Mission with an important research project to demonstrate the impact of the work they do with their “Healthy Homes Initiative” throughout the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland. In particular, the BEACON team provided guidance and helped them develop poverty level housing metrics for them to measure their impact. This was also an excellent experiential learning opportunity for our graduate assistants working on the project.

National Folk Festival will bounce back from COVID-19 delay, but artists feel the impact

Read about Beacon at Salisbury University’s longitudinal analysis of the economic impact of the National Folk Festival in Salisbury, MD. In the first two years of the festival, BEACON teams conducted field interviews at different hours of each day of the weekend, gathering data on where festival-goers were coming from, how much they were spending, how much they posted on social media, their likelihood of coming back, etc.
