Got to spend the evening working with the Olney HS Band in their final push to UIL Area Marching Contest along side a great friend and collaborator, Josh Shaw. Yes, that’s the legendary Rodney Bennett having a lot of fun playing along with his kids on my book for “Scheherazade”. That made this note-smith very happy!

Congratulations the the Lake Dallas Falcon Band on their Superior rating at UIL! I have wanted to write this show for so long, and I’m proud to have these wonderful kids bring “Saddles And Spurs” to life this season!

Congratulations to the Van Alstyne Panther Band on their superior rating at their UIL regional and Area advancement! It was a pleasure working on this production with program coordinator Josh Wendt and percussion designer Evan Blackard. It’s always an honor to work with Tim Fulton and his team at VA!

I’m so blessed to work with these outstanding people. The Bennett’s set a great example of commitment to each other, to the students, to their community, and to their craft. My wife and I aspire to be like them some day. ❤️ Can’t wait to see what the Olney HS Band does with our show this year!

I had nothing to do with this performance other than being a rabid fan. There’s just nothing quite as cool as a live military band playing traditional marches, and the Marine band at MCRD San Diego did not disappoint!

This no-frills, honor-America Dallas F Bayless arrangement of “Star Spangled Banner” was featured today by the Lake Dallas HS Falcon Band in front of 80,000 patriotic fans at the American Rodeo, the largest one-day rodeo in the world, at AT&T Stadium. It was a resounding success, and the arranger was honored to flap his arms along on such a grand stage!
