The USD Changemaker Hub is an organic entity cutting across schools and disciplines in order to create an environment for learning and discovery that embeds changemaking into the DNA of the institution. The Hub’s purpose is to better link the diverse innovative initiatives occurring within USD’s various schools, centers, institutes and student organizations for the translation of learning and discovery into effective solutions to contemporary social issues. The Changemaker Hub includes all USD educators, students, staff, and community members. It operates in partnership with Ashoka U and all the Changemaker campuses in the United States and Mexico. USD's designation as an AshokaU Changemaker campus is credit to the important work on social change that USD students, faculty and staff have been doing for years. Being recognized as a Changemaker campus is an opportunity to be part of a large network of people dedicated to change making. It is an invitation to think collectively about how to develop effective institutional mechanisms, garner resources, and promote the best environment for research, teaching, and service that has changemaking for building more sustainable and socially just societies as its core. With this in mind we ask you to share your ideas and let us know the role that you would like to play in the development of a USD Changemaker Hub.
