Green Energy Challenge

Green Energy Challenge San Diego State University students compete in the annual Green Energy Challenge Please check this page frequently and tell your friends to “fan” us too.

The Green Energy Challenge (GEC) is a national competition against other universities with NECA student chapters. The GEC is put together by National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and ELECTRI International (EI). As a team, we find a structure on campus, organize an energy audit to learn about the structure and study its current building systems. Then, we search for new technologies/pro

ducts/concepts that will improve energy efficiency to the structure. For the competition we have to write a technical proposal describing our findings and recommendations to save building costs related to energy. We have to study the mechanical and electrical systems of the structure and present a solution that will be beneficial to the client. The teams with the best proposals will be selected and get the opportunity to attend the National NECA Convention to present their project to panel of judges. This project is really exciting for our team and we want to share some of the interesting things we learn with everyone. Please fan our page to learn more about new technologies and products that pertain to the electrical construction industry. We will also share updates regarding our progress on the Green Energy Challenge. Thank you!
