Meet Louis Renault (B.F.A., industrial design, 2025) 🤝

After graduating from SCAD, Louis Renault co-founded BLANK Design with fellow alum Jacob Perrone. What started as a way for the two designers to keep making together after college has grown into an independent studio developing furniture, lighting, and objects with distinctive form.

Alongside BLANK, Louis has continued developing his practice across product, furniture, and transportation design, while gaining hands-on experience with digital fabrication and large-scale robotic 3D printing.

This September, Louis brought Sima, a large-format 3D printed lounge chair developed with Jacob, to London Design Festival with ISOLA Design Group.

His approach to design is driven by curiosity and a belief that functional objects can still have character. Rather than simply asking what a product solves, Louis is interested in what it makes people feel, how they interact with it, and whether it gives them a reason to look twice👏

During the Winter Quarter of 2021, Eloy Veloso met one of his most influential professors, who would often repeat, “Pare down to the essence, but don’t remove the poetry.” At the time, it was a phrase he found difficult to comprehend.

After graduating from SCAD with a B.F.A. in Industrial Design in Fall 2022, Eloy went straight to work at the US Open in New York as a Graphic Designer.
His journey at SCAD was anything but linear. While competing on the SCAD Men’s Tennis Team, Eloy moved between Film and Television, Advertising, and finally, Industrial Design. Each discipline taught him something valuable, even when he wasn’t sure how those experiences would eventually connect.
In 2023, Eloy moved to Australia and began working for Tennis Australia, continuing to find ways to apply the lessons he had learned across different fields. While he never had the opportunity to work as an Industrial Designer, the ability to identify a problem and find a solution has proven to be a priceless skill that can transfer across industries.

Since moving to Australia, Eloy has had the opportunity to work at tournaments including the Australian Open and Wimbledon, producing content for social media and websites. Working in close proximity to professional athletes has been both rewarding and inspiring, motivating him to continue improving his own craft.

As a student, Eloy worried that he wouldn’t find his niche right after college. With time and experience, he realized that perhaps finding one specific niche was never the point.

What SCAD was teaching him was how to understand the essence of a problem and solve it with poetry!🐝

Meet Shannon Lynch (B.F.A., animation), who is continuing her creative journey with Marvel Entertainment as a Marvel Creative Design Intern in New York City! 🕷️✨

After graduating from SCAD, Shannon completed the Disney College Program, served as a Disney College Programs Campus Representative, and gained creative development experience through Universal Creative x SCADpro. Now at Marvel, she’s contributing to projects for upcoming releases and working alongside an incredible creative team.

Her advice to fellow SCAD Bees pursuing creative careers? Be someone your team can rely on and have the perseverance to pursue your dreams. 💫
