Little Creative Hands Teacher Biographies:

CK Ruby
CK moved from Japan in 1990, and has lived over half of her life in the United States. It works both ways!

We teach baby signing classes, using American Sign Language, at public places and private homes, give private lessons, and support babies-parents communication even before babies develop their speech skills. Benefits of Baby Sign Language:
• Reduces frustration by giving a way for babies to communicate before their speech develops
• Helps the development of language skills
• Develops a strong bond

between you and your baby
• Helps reinforcing language skills already developed
• Increases baby's self-esteem and confidence by creating feelings of satisfaction and accomplishment
• Teaches a second language (ASL) and possibly adds a third language through signing
• May increase IQ
• Reduces the stress of "the terrible twos"
• and much more!!! She is very fluent in both English and Japanese. She holds Bachelor's Degree in Music, and Master's Degree in Education with endorsement in Japanese from Central Washington University. She has collectively 10 years of teaching experience in American public schools, teaching her mother tongue, Japanese, and its culture. Her experience in developing fun and effective activities and comprehensive curriculum for her teaching in school districts is coming to a fruition in developing the curriculum for our baby signing classes. You can certainly tell her love for teaching languages, whether it is Japanese, or American Sign Language for babies and their parents/caregivers. Greg Ruby
(Greg's biography - coming soon)

Both CK and Greg have been signing to their daughter, Chloe, since she was a few months old. Once she developed some physical coordination, signing has been an amazing communication tool between them. Even after Chloe has developed some speaking skills, where she cannot pronounce a word correctly (which she, at age of 21 months, still has a lot of), she covers it with signing! And where she doesn't have her coordination of hands/fingers yet, she covers it with different sounds she can make in her speech skills.
